Said Attiya

Dr. Said Attiya is a dedicated scientist with a proven track record of scientific innovation. Dr. Attiya was awarded his PhD from the Chemistry Department at University of Alberta. His research program then led to the first La-on-Chip instrument for analyzing DNA and RNA in a microfluidics chip. Dr. Attiya worked as a research scientist at startup 454 (A Roche Company). He had a patent for convective DNA sequencing. 454 (A Roche company) was the first company to commercialize DNA and RNA sequencers. Dr. Attiya led research and product support for many years at BioArrays, Aldevron and Bio-Rad Laboratories companies. Withh his extensive experience in molecular techniques and ability to bring new technologies to the market, he will be an invaluable asset to developing an effective gene therapy treatment for Alzheimer’s.

Edrees Noorzay

Edrees is a bioinformatics and software engineer with years of experience writing laboratory automation software and developing a diverse range of biological data analysis pipelines. These pipelines have been used to validate clinical trial results for companies such as Pfizer and Sanofi, perform limit detection testing for JPL at NASA, COVID-19 detection and strain identification for the CDC, and to generate mutational data for clinical reports used in hospitals around the world. Utilizing a multidisciplinary skill set between biology, software, and statistics, Edrees will be an asset in developing efficient processes for prototyping and measuring efficacy of AAVs, creating software to streamline laboratory processes and management, as well as overseeing the general use of technology in our workflows.
